Murphy commits to disability confidence scheme

Murphy is proud to announce it is now supporting existing and new staff with disabilities using the Disability Confident scheme level 2.

As an inclusive employer, our culture is open to supporting everyone who works here, part of this support includes committing to and supporting people with disabilities.

As part of the scheme Murphy has committed to:

  1. Ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible.
  2. We promote and communicate our vacancies.
  3. We offer an interview to disabled people when they meet the criteria.
  4. We anticipate what reasonable adjustments a person may need before they join us.
  5. We will support our existing employees with disability, including any they acquire as well as any health condition that may have a long term affect

There are also further changes that Murphy as a business are currently looking into, which include making our offices accessible and ensuring we have a working lift at our Kentish Town office, retraining our recruitment teams so they are asking the right questions to help support new employees as well as working closely with the Disability Confident scheme to become a level 3 member.

Jonathan Wright, Group People Director, said of the introduction of the Disability Confident scheme:

"This is a huge step in the right direction for inclusiveness at Murphy. We've recently had the introduction of our LGBT+ community and we are now committing ourselves to fully supporting people who have great talent to offer our business, who have a disability.

As we continue to broaden the diversity of our workforce, this is another positive step towards ensuring we have the best people within the industry to help us achieve our Ten Year Plan, which I am really excited about."
