Details about John Murphy
John was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2018. He joined the business in 2003 as a civil engineer and developed a broad range of experience working across the company’s key sectors and capabilities.
John has worked on notable projects such the London power tunnels for the Olympic Park project in 2012, as well as the South Wales expansion pipeline for National Grid. Following his time on projects, he successfully led the Murphy business across the North of England as managing director, and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2017. He is a fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineers, and recently completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme. John is the grandson of our founder John Murphy and also represents the company on a number of joint venture boards both in the UK and abroad.

Details about David Burke
David is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for the financial management of the Group’s activities with particular focus on financial control, performance reporting, balance sheet management and information provision.
David is a qualified chartered accountant with 30 years’ experience in audit and operational finance. His early career saw him spend eight years at KPMG in London, before moving on to develop his blue chip experience at Citibank, Barclays and Serco Group. He joined Murphy from Serco in 2016, where he was he was Divisional Finance Director for the £1bn AMEAA region and the £1.6bn UK Central Government Division following its creation in 2014. David also has overseas experience having been on secondment to KPMG’s Sydney office for two years and spending four years in Delhi with Serco.

Details about Dawn Moore
Dawn has over 26 years’ experience working in Human Resources (HR) and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. She brings significant leadership skills and senior HR experience to the Murphy family, and plays a central role as part of our Group Executive Committee (GEC).
Dawn was voted HR Director of the Year 2019 (EMEA) by HRO Today and was named as one of the most influential eight women in Construction in 2018. Dawn has received multiple national awards for work on diversity and inclusion, culture change, recognition and HR strategy over the last few years and is regularly asked to speak at national events and contribute to published articles on her HR work. Additionally, she has experience as a Non-Executive Director and is passionate about creating an inclusive working environment where everyone, regardless of background, can be successful.

Details about John P Murphy
J P Murphy joined the business from private practice in June 1992 as the company’s sole in-house legal adviser. He is responsible for the legal, security and governance matters in the business and sits on the Group Executive Committee.
His career has evolved with the growth of the business over the last 27 years encompassing the major transactions that have underpinned its growth. This includes property acquisitions and business acquisitions in the UK and incorporated and unincorporated joint ventures in the UK, Australia and Canada. In his role as Company Secretary to the Board, he has assisted the Non-Executive Chairman in the establishing the corporate governance which now underpins the decision-making process in the business He also acts as secretary to the Audit, Risk and Opportunity and Remuneration Board Committees to support the non-executive directors’ oversight of the business.

Details about Chris Green
Chris brings over 35 years’ experience in commercial leadership to Murphy. He has a sharp commercial focus across the estimating and planning & project control functions across the business.
He has joined us from Capita Property and Infrastructure, leading and growing the business from start up to a top five UK property and infrastructure business. Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveying and also sits on the Editorial Advisory Group for the RICS Construction Journal and regularly publishes articles.

Details about John Kinirons
John has worked in various executive roles in the construction industry over the past ten years, and possesses strong credentials in strategy, business development, sustainability and governance.
At Murphy, John leads the Strategy and SHES functions across the business. He works with the CEO and other Executives to set and drive the medium to long-term strategies of the business and oversees our business development, work winning, and marketing and communications activities. With respect to SHES, this involves taking the lead for Safety, Health, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality Assurance, managing the SHES team, embedding SHES leadership in Murphy, setting SHES standards and expectations, and continuously monitoring performance. An experienced leader, John has a proven track record of driving change and delivering results in the infrastructure and energy markets. He is also a chartered civil engineer and health and safety professional.

Details about Nick Fletcher
With over 30 years of experience in civil engineering and building, Nick has worked on and been responsible for projects across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Internationally. He has worked in a variety of infrastructure sectors and capabilities, including pipelines, water and gas pipeline, tunnelling, piling, airports, rail, water, nuclear, utilities, energy, marine and many building sectors including custodial, residential, commercial, hospitality, health and education.
Nick is a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and as part of his commitment to professional development of Murphy Graduates, Nick also actively enjoys being a Supervising Civil Engineer (SCE) for a number of Graduates and a registered Professional Reviewer with the ICE for Graduates applying for Chartered status.

Details about Mick Fitzpatrick
Mick joined the business as an engineering graduate in 1996. He has operated at various levels within the key sectors of natural resources, water and wastewater, with a focus on the design and construction of large diameter pipelines and associated facilities.
Mick had an integral part of growing the business in both the UK and Australia, when he was the Director of Pipelines and Process. Since 2015, he has been expanding Murphy in Canada as President of Surerus Murphy; a 50% Murphy joint venture focused on the delivery of major pipeline infrastructure within Western Canada.
