2021 was another successful year for Murphy despite a challenging backdrop – with a focus on resilience and steady, sustainable growth.

Safeguards put in place to protect colleagues, customers and projects in 2020 meant that Murphy was able to continue to deliver with minimal disruption to the business during 2021. This resulted in sustained progress against strategic objectives with steady, incremental financial growth: robust revenue (up 14% in 2021 to £1,270m), operating profit (up 67% to £21.7m) net cash reserves (up £42.8m to £216.6m) for the period.

Performance was driven by a succession of contract wins across all areas of the business - core sectors of energy, transport, water, construction and property all performed well, as did Murphy’s three key markets of the UK, Ireland and Canada.

There’s more to Murphy.
