Murphy Ireland Engineer, Oisín Campbell, is competing for Ireland in the Men’s Open World Surfing Games in El Salvador this week.
The 2021 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games are the last Olympic Qualifier before the Tokyo Olympics. Participants can secure one of the remaining 12 Olympic slots at this competition.
Oisín was introduced to surfing while living in Co. Clare as a child. He has since surfed many of Ireland’s most challenging breaks and competed amongst some of the best Irish surfers.
“This is a once in a life opportunity for me that I have dreamt of since I was a child. There are over 100 nations competing at this year’s games. I am very grateful to my employer Murphy Ireland for supporting me,” Oisín said from El Salvador.
As well as providing sponsorship, Murphy Ireland are supporting Oisín on his return with all safety checks to ensure correct Covid-19 protocol is adhered to, including PCR testing and mandatory isolation period before returning to work.
