Murphy is pleased to announce its appointment by South Dublin County Council to deliver the Firhouse Road Active Travel Improvement Scheme, a significant infrastructure project designed to enhance walking, cycling and road safety facilities for the local community. Construction has now commenced on the scheme, which extends along Firhouse Road between Firhouse and Old Bawn. The project forms part of South Dublin County Council’s ongoing commitment to improving active travel infrastructure and creating safer, more sustainable transport options for residents, schools and road users. The scope of works includes: Upgrading the existing cycle tracks along Firhouse Road Enhancing pedestrian and cyclist crossings at Ballycullen Road, Ballycullen Avenue and Ballycullen Drive Delivering a Safe School Zone at Scoil Carmel Completing Safe Routes to School measures at Scoil Maelruain Junior National School and St Dominic’s National School Improving access to Firhouse Community College The scheme will help encourage active travel while improving connectivity and safety for pedestrians, cyclists, students and the wider community. Murphy has a strong track record of delivering infrastructure projects that support sustainable transport and improved public spaces.
