As a business who directly employs our own tradespeople, it’s vital that we train up apprentices who share our values - because you’ll go on to be the professionals who deliver everything we do.
Whether you have just left school or college or you are further down the track and are looking for a career change - our trade apprenticeships could be a great option for you!
We have a range of trade apprenticeships based around the UK. Typical roles include:
Not all roles are listed, please email us at emergingtalent@murphygroup.co.uk if you have a specific area of interest that's not on the list.
Our apprenticeships last up to four years, depending on the course. They balance practical work and college studies, giving you exposure to some of the most exciting projects we have to offer - right from your first day.
Courses range from level 2 right up to level 6, which means that if you don’t have the relevant qualifications for a specific role, there may be an alternative route.
Whichever apprenticeship you are on, we will support you throughout your journey. You will become a valued member of a friendly team with a skilled mentor to help show you the way. You will be rewarded with great benefits and vast experience across our range of exciting projects.
We will work closely with your dedicated college, university or training provider to create a structured training plan that enables you to learn while you both work and study, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing your apprenticeship.
Your programme will start with a warm welcome to Murphy through a detailed induction tailored to your course.
You will attend lectures and classes on a day-release basis, working towards a qualification related to your trade, with full access to our online learning resources. As you complete your college work, we’ll ensure that we put you onto real-life work that complements your studies and helps you complete them. You’ll see the things you’re learning in the classroom brought to life.
In addition, you will be supported by your own personal mentor inside the business, who’ll be there to guide you and share their experiences, from the little things, like handy day-to-day tips, to the big things, like how to plan for your future with us.
Finally, the cultural development programme are important events and courses which will help you share in our values. What’s more, because they are led by our own former tradespeople who used to be carpenters, joiners, and engineers themselves, the team know exactly what it’s like to be in your shoes – and how to help you develop.
We don’t look for any particular qualifications here. All you need is a willingness to work hard and keep learning.
When you join Murphy, you join a team that is committed to protecting the environment for future generations. We are on a mission to improve life through enabling climate action and adding social value in the communities we work.
