I’m Lewis Morgan, I’ve been working as a Repair and Maintenance Apprentice at Murphy in East and North London for nearly two years.
I chose an apprenticeship at Murphy because the opportunity seemed unique in comparison to many other apprenticeships. There was a clear structure in place where you could see the opportunities throughout the apprenticeship and further beyond once qualified.
My highlight so far has been becoming a labourer. This has shown me that I am capable of taking on more responsibility and no longer need to be the third person shadowing.
I receive a lot of support working at Murphy. There are always colleagues or managers willing to help me if I have any questions. Furthermore, I receive yearly health check-ups which I believe is a great benefit and a sign of Murphy investing in their employees.
After my apprenticeship I am looking forward to being part of a competent ‘gang’. I am excited to see what further opportunities there are for me to progress in the company.
