SECTORS WE OPERATE IN

Our world-class infrastructure projects are across five sectors in the UK:   

  1. Transportation
  2. Power
  3. Natural Resources
  4. Water
  5. Construction and Property

Our projects in these sectors are supported through our specialist skills and services including Specialist Welding Services, Pipeline Testing Services, Ground Engineering, Electrical Services and Urban Infrastructure (Highways). We also own and operate our own plant and small tools through Murphy Plant.

THE STANDARDS WE EXPECT

It is our policy to procure goods and services competitively, ethically, sustainably and efficiently in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations and licenses in each of these sectors. There is a minimum requirement that our supply chain partners have to meet to be put on our supply chain partner lists.

SUPPLY CHAIN CHARTERS
ACCREDITATIONS
  • New general building contractors classified as non-high risk hold a valid health and safety accreditation recognised by SSIP
  • New subcontractors deemed as high risk hold a valid construction line health and safety accreditation at Gold Level/ Level 3
  • New subcontractors working within a specific sector i.e. transport, power, water etc. must hold a valid sector specific health and safety accreditation (i.e. RISQS, UVDB FPAL, TRans Q etc), and variation from this must be pre approved by the BU Procurement Lead

Sustainability practices – including climate change prevention and social value - outlines our ambition to transform the way we do business and provide a sustainable legacy as a result of our operations.  We expect our suppliers to support this approach. As you progress with your tender and application you will be expected to consider:    

  • Safety and wellbeing of your employees
  • Your environmental policy – how do you avoid waste, recycle and reuse. We have made a commitment to be single use plastic free by 2021 and have reduced our net carbon intensity every year for the last 10 years
  • Support for emerging talent including apprentices and graduate programmes
  • How you encourage diversity
