HOW TO GET PAID

To speed up payments it is important that you follow some specific steps. Please see these pages for details on how to quote, invoices and goods notes receipts:

COVID-19

We have put Covid-19 secure measures across all our sites, depots and offices. Following covid-19 secure measures is a condition of entry to all our locations and all essential visitors should review our covid-19 secure measures on our coronavirus hub.

VAT DOMESTIC REVERSE CHARGE

All subcontractors should submit their January application urgently so that we can process this in line with the current rules.

On 1 March 2021 a new HMRC process called the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge for building and construction services comes into effect. The charge applies to standard and reduced-rate VAT services. This doesn’t apply to suppliers, only subcontractors.

  • If you are VAT registered and report within the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), then the VAT Domestic Reverse charges apply. This means you should not include VAT in any requests for payment to Murphy. If you do this will delay payment.
  • If you are VAT registered but the construction services supplied don’t fall within CIS then your request for payment should include VAT.

For further information and to check if this regulation applies to your organisation, please check the HMRC guidance. If you have any questions about our processes please speak to your project’s Quantity Surveyor

INNOVATION FOUNDATION

The Innovation Foundation is led by our ‘continually improve’ value, which seeks the best ideas from across the business and our supply chain.

Working collaboratively as ‘One Murphy’, we foster a culture that helps generate new ideas. We stimulate a consistent team-based approach to problem solving that results in clear social, economic and environmental benefits. Innovation allows us to be better, smarter and safer in everything we do. Find out more

If you would like to get involved or have an idea you would like to collaborate on then either speak to the Innovation Champion on your Murphy site or email innovation@murphygroup.co.uk. We welcome all ideas from our supply chain partners. Some areas we are always interested in are:

  • Protect our environment, including carbon reduction – new or improved products, processes or services that reduce our environmental impact
  • Quality – products processes or services that help us improve and maintain a high degree of quality in our work. Perhaps integration with supply chain digital systems, or new products that prevent failure
  • Safety – products, processes, technology or services that can help us protect our people and local communities
  • Track worker safety – keeping people that work in the railway safe, by understanding where they are and what risks they are exposed to in a smart, digitally-led way.
