Team received the highest possible score

Our Minworth Storm Tank Rehabilitation project team was recognised by our customer, Severn Trent Water, for their excellent safety, health, environmental and quality performance over the course of the project. The team achieved 14 Controls Effective ratings during inspections, which is the highest possible score.

The award reflects the successful rehabilitation and repurposing of six redundant concrete tanks, delivering an additional 32,000m³ of stormwater storage capacity. The scope included full condition surveys, design, and the delivery of all civil and MEICA works, bringing the assets safely and efficiently back into operation.

A phased delivery strategy enabled early temporary use of the storage by the end of the first year of the framework, helping to reduce storm spills at the earliest opportunity. Permanent infrastructure was then installed while maintaining full operational performance on a live wastewater treatment site.

The scheme focused on early contractor involvement with the design and build, utilising in‑house design capability to strengthen change control and optimise efficiency. Construction was further enhanced using off‑site precast solutions, just‑in‑time logistics and advanced digital surveying and modelling, reducing risks and protecting existing assets.

Environmental performance remained a key priority throughout delivery. The use of low-carbon concrete and HVO fuels contributed to measurable carbon reductions, without compromising safety or operational efficiency.

The Minworth project showcased the strength of our integrated delivery model with work from our teams including Applied Engineering, Pressure Testing Services, the specialist steel fabrication team at Newbridge, Technical Services and Plant.
