Underground construction specialists

Murphy has a proud history of designing and constructing tunnels and underground structures for numerous clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

We are proud to have worked with clients such as National Grid, UK Power Networks, Thames Water, United Utilities, Wessex Water, Crossrail and Network Rail.

We have the in-house capability to design and deliver all tunnelling techniques, including sprayed concrete lining and mechanised Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) tunnelling. We have experience in designing and delivering shafts and caverns using a wide range of techniques that can cater to different ground conditions and depths. This allows us to evaluate the most effective solution for each unique requirement.
