What do you do at Murphy?

In my role, I am responsible for directing and organising the operations and maintenance activities of the waste water treatment works under my remit, as per the Project Management System and contract specifications for each site.

The role involves everything from team development, health and safety, budget requirements for plant maintenance, arranging service contracts, attending client liaison meetings, preparing technical reports, third party and in-house audits to making a good cup of tea!

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

Working within a great team, as well as facing new challenges each day.

What attracted you to working in the construction industry?

I started my career far from site in many respects. I was first a Laboratory Analyst in Murphy’s Citywest offices and after a short while an opening for a Site Commissioning Engineer came up and I never looked back. I was involved in many different projects from waste water to water sites and eventually I headed to the west coast of Ireland, taking on a management role at the main waste water treatment works in Galway City.
