two 23-tonne SANY SY215E electric excavators new to the fleet

As part of its ongoing commitment to minimising environmental impact, Murphy has invested in two 23-tonne SANY SY215E electric excavators to advance fuel and operational efficiency across the business.

Operating with zero emissions and low noise levels, the excavators are equipped with a state-of-the-art Lithium Iron Phosphate (cobalt-free) CATL battery, which is environmentally friendly and less toxic. Additionally, the excavators feature fuel-efficient technology that can save as much as 10% on fuel costs.

The battery life can last 6-8 hours with a one hour charging capability (80%), so a productive full day of operation can be easily achieved. SANY excavators also include an optimised positive flow hydraulic system, which improves operating efficiency by as much as 5%.

Brendan Sugrue, Plant and Transport Managing Director at Murphy said: “At Murphy, we are dedicated to improving operational efficiency and sustainability amongst our plant equipment. We proactively seek out solutions with low energy consumption and limited CO2 emissions.

“These new SANY excavators, which produce zero emissions, align perfectly with our ever-growing range of environmentally friendly plant equipment. Using lower carbon technologies is key to our Never Harm value and our commitment to leaving a positive legacy in the communities we work in.”
