Murphy Irelands Plant Department provides €15 Million worth of various types of plant, tools and transport requirements to all Murphy projects throughout Ireland. All of our projects have over 90% of our own plant, on any site, at any one time. To assist with this, our transport fleet varies from small cars and vans, to large HGV tractor units which have cranes fitted, so we can always set up our own Site Accommodation units without the need to rely on crane companies to come in to set up. We provide all types of plant, tools and transport requirements to Murphy projects. These include cars, vans HGVs Hiabs, low loaders and specialised vehicles.
We own & maintain the newest and most modern fleet in the industry, ensuring our projects can benefit from newer engines, lower emissions and less fuel consumption. As an in-house Plant department, we always have a surplus of plant so we can ensure we have the right plant and equipment for any project readily available. We also deliver a fully comprehensive plant hire service that is simple, safe, efficient and reliable.
As a part of our eco drive we hold a large fleet of ECO Accommodation units which offer sensor lights and sensor taps ensuring that no electricity or water is wasted where possible. We also have a small number of electric vehicles in the fleet and are currently looking to expand this much further over the next twelve months, as they have been a very successful addition. Added to this we have many low emissions and hybrid engine excavators including super silent generators and pumps, reducing carbon emissions and noise where possible.
We carry out our own Maintenance and Repairs in-house, greatly reducing downtime on our plant and equipment which are rarely out of commission. This is due to the high level of service and inspections we carry out on our plant and the fact that we maintain a relatively young fleet throughout the company.
All our drivers and operators are fully trained and attend refresher courses to ensure they are fully competent in carrying out their daily tasks. To assist our drivers, all Murphy plant and vehicles are fitted with the latest safety features including tracking devices and camera systems.
