Learn moreThe contract with BBCLG for GNI started in 2012 and Involves the maintenance and upgrading of the Gas Transmission Network Stations throughout Ireland. To date Murphy has worked in over 100 of the Above Ground Installations (AGI’s) with projects including:
Murphy provide a 24/7 emergency response service throughout ROI.
All of the projects are within live gas stations which require strict control under GNI Permit to Work systems. This is further backed up by BBCLG and Murphy Ireland control systems. We have upskilled our workforce to allow the flexibility required to cover the geographical spread and different disciplines needed. The contracts can be for as few as 2 people to upwards of 30.
The Heat Exchanger Overhauls require the removal of a key piece of equipment from the stream for cleaning, inspection and pressure testing. Originally this was all carried out onsite within the confines of the AGI. This operation is now carried out within our purpose built testing facility in Newbridge. A shortened “pupped” trailer is used on our articulated 20t Hiab to load the Heat Exchanger for transportation to our yard. The main advantage is that the test is carried out in a safe environment and not within a live gas station.
Throughout the project Murphy have proactively participated in value engineering with the Client to ensure the most cost-effective solution was provided.
