{"id":4159,"date":"2026-03-09T11:52:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T11:52:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=4159"},"modified":"2026-03-20T17:04:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T17:04:24","slug":"utility-network-improvement-works-west-byfleet-primary-substation-to-sheerwater","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/staging\/project\/utility-network-improvement-works-west-byfleet-primary-substation-to-sheerwater\/","title":{"rendered":"Utility Network Improvement Works \u2013 West Byfleet Primary Substation to Sheerwater"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Major electrical upgrades to the existing HV network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From April 2026, Murphy will be undertaking a 3.7km (7.4km dual circuit) major electrical upgrade of the existing 11kv HV network between West Byfleet Primary substation and Sheerwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Programme of Works:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start: <\/strong>25 April 2026 \u2013 September 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duration<\/strong>: approximately 20 weeks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure the safety of our employees, all road users and members of the public, we will be deploying a mixture of traffic management during these works, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 x way signals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi way signals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Road closures \/ lane closures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Temporary pedestrian crossings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The works will be completed in phases, commencing from 25 April 2026 near Paragon Roundabout \/ Chertsey Rd, before heading along Martyrs Lane, Woodham Avenue, Sheerwater Rd and Woodlands Avenue, with completion expected in Autumn 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emergency vehicle access, refuse collections and property access will be maintained at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Working hours:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday to Friday: 7am &#8211; 7pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday: 8am &#8211; 5pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday: 8am &#8211; 5pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bank Holidays: 8am &#8211; 5pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To minimise disruption caused by the works, we will be utilising 2 x civils teams to maximise productivity and shorten our site duration. A local contractor is being utilised to provide and recycle all aggregates required for the works to drive efficiency further, while minimising the environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works to upgrade the local infrastructure.
