To be at the helm of a company that is leading the way in innovation and engineering \u2013 a company my grandfather began more than 60 years ago \u2013 is a real honour, and I can\u2019t wait to get started.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n John joined the business in 2003 as a civil engineer and has developed a broad range of experience across the company\u2019s key sectors capabilities and notable projects such the London power tunnels for the Olympic Park in 2012 as well as the south Wales expansion pipeline for National Grid. Prior to taking on the COO role, John successfully lead Murphy\u2019s business across the north of England as managing director and has represented the company on a number of joint venture boards both in the UK and internationally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019d like to thank Steve for his hard work and leadership over the past few years, and I\u2019m pleased he\u2019s staying with us in a non-executive role,\u201d<\/em> added Alastair.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n Steve said: \u201cIt\u2019s been an amazing few years with lots of challenges.
