{"id":4193,"date":"2026-03-05T12:53:41","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T12:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/?p=4193"},"modified":"2026-03-13T13:07:37","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T13:07:37","slug":"early-works-underway-at-lower-thames-crossing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/staging\/early-works-underway-at-lower-thames-crossing\/","title":{"rendered":"Early works underway at *Lower Thames Crossing*"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delivering the longest twin road tunnels in the UK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Early works are now officially underway at <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalhighways.co.uk\/our-roads\/lower-thames-crossing\/\">Lower Thames Crossing<\/a>, where Murphy is working in joint venture with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bouygues-uk.com\/\">Bouygues Travaux Publics UK<\/a> as BMJV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/staging\/murphy-joint-venture-awarded-lower-thames-crossing-contract\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"809\">to deliver the design and\u202fconstruction of the twin\u202froad tunnels under\u202fthe River Thames<\/a>, which at 2.6 miles will be the longest in the UK.<br><br>BMJV was awarded the Tunnels and Approaches contract for Lower Thames Crossing, focusing on carbon reduction, value for money and building a local workforce and supply chain.
