Murphy part of London Pride for first time ever

Murphy's LGBT+ network took part in the Pride procession through the streets of London last Saturday.

80 people from across Murphy and InterEngineering – a community group focused on LGBT within the engineering and construction sector - took part in the parade with a huge Murphy HGV, painted in the rainbow flag colours.

Murphy employees were one of the only construction and engineering firms which took part in the parade, something Amy Foster, emerging talent manager said is a significant achievement:

"The event was a great success and it was brilliant to have so many people turn up and celebrate pride in London. Overall it was a really positive experience and it was great to see members of the public interact with us in a different way, and hear such positive comments about Murphy taking part in the parade and supporting the LGBT community. Murphy’s LBGT+ network has been extremely well received and is getting great support from around the business.”

The LGBT+ network would also like to thank plant drivers John Lally and Tony Lucas who volunteered their time to drive the HGV along the pride route.
