Five Murphy employees named as finalists at this year's WICE Awards

Five Murphy employees have been named as finalists at this year's European Women in Construction and Engineering (WICE) Awards.

The prestigious awards recognise the top women in the industry and are fiercely contested.

The finalists are:

  • Alex Axford, Quantity Surveyor
    Best Woman Quantity Surveyor
  • Jennifer Fitzgibbon, Senior SHESQ Advisor (AMK)
Best Woman in Health and Safety
  • Imogen Graves, Engineer
    Best Young Woman Engineer
  • Aarti Didi, Senior Planning Manager
    Best Woman Construction Planner
  • Joanna Mulcahy, Senior Commercial Manager
    Best Woman Quantity Surveyor

Engineering director Alastair Smyth said: "I'm proud that for the second year running we are seeing so many Murphy women reach the finals of this tough competition. As a company we are focused on increasing diversity across the engineering and construction sector, including closing the imbalance of gender representation in the industry. Seeing five of our employees reach the finals shows we are able to attract talented women and the nominees can be very proud of their work. Well done!.”

All four finalists will meet the judging panel in April and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on 24 May.

Look out for an interview with each finalist, released every Friday for the next five weeks.
